OpenDissertations
What it is:
OpenDissertations is a free resource from EBSCOhost that lets you explore millions of graduate theses and dissertations from universities around the world. It includes both older works and modern research, many available in full text.
Why you’d use it:
If you’re writing a research paper or thinking about graduate school, OpenDissertations is a great way to see what topics others have explored and how they structured their work. It’s also useful for finding detailed studies, literature reviews, and original data that may not appear in journal articles.
OpenDissertations (EBSCOhost) provides free access to millions of electronic theses and dissertations (ETDs) contributed by universities worldwide. The collection spans from early 20th-century print works to current open-access graduate research.
Why it’s useful:
Faculty and researchers can use OpenDissertations to identify emerging research trends, review methodologies, or locate prior studies in a given field. It also serves as a discovery tool for guiding student researchers and for identifying potential collaborators in specialized areas.
